The mission of Align Wealth Advisors is to bring joy to our clients. We do this by aligning their wealth with their purpose. At the helm of the practice, Kimberly leads the team and partners with clients to make complex simple, allowing them to make sound choices for their future.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE SUCCESS AS A FINANCIAL ADVISOR?

After 25 years in the industry I am now advising the adult grandchildren of some of my first clients. To hear the life lessons passed down through generations is heartwarming. Helping those families continue their legacies successfully for generations to come is why I am most grateful this career found me.

WHAT ACHIEVEMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

Balancing a career and motherhood is challenging. The rewards of each exceed the challenges of both. Being named to Working Mother magazine’s list of Top Wealth Advisor Mothers and achieving national recognition for two parts of my life I hold dear is meaningful to me.

WHAT CRITICAL LIFE EVENTS CHANGED THE COURSE OF YOUR LIFE?

Going to college overseas helped build my independence. As an adult, my own experiences with divorce, remarriage and parenting dyslexic children have given me perspective and empathy for the unexpected events life brings. I draw on these experiences as I guide others through their life transitions, helping them realize their potential.

Time and money are our two most valuable resources. How you spend them is how you spend your life. Managing your wealth aligned with your purpose is key to living your one best life.

WHAT’S YOUR HAPPY PLACE?

I can’t pick just one. The best part of being an advisor is witnessing a client’s success when they achieve their goals. Feeling my children’s love and seeing their joy fills my heart. Being on a sailboat in the ocean with my beloved husband ‒ going fast, feeling the wind and seeing the seascape ‒ soothes my soul.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES NEAR TO YOUR HEART?

I am an advocate and mentor for the CFP Board’s Women’s Initiative. Being a CFP® professional has made me a better advisor. It is important to me to give back to the organization that maintains a high ethical standard for our profession, while benefiting women entering the industry. As a working mother, I know it takes a village. I support education, dyslexia initiatives and youth athletics through fundraising and volunteering. These organizations have been an important part of our village.

* SHOOK™ Research considered Wealth Advisors who are mothers with children living at home and under the age of 21. Ranking algorithm is based on qualitative measures derived from telephone and in-person interviews and surveys: service models, investing process, client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations, etc.; and quantitative criteria, such as assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criterion because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC. For more information see www.shookresearch.com. Data as of 3/31/2019. From a total universe of 300,000 advisors, based on our thresholds we received 30,691 nominations, of which approximately 20% (6,000) were women and less than half (< 3,000) at the time were mothers with children under the age of 21 and living at home. A final list of the top 400 advisors was then compiled based upon the quantitative criteria. Research Summary (as of 10/2018): From a total universe of 300,000 advisors, based on our thresholds we received 26,000 nominations, of which approximately 20% (5,200) were women and less than half (< 2,600) at the time were mothers with children under the age of 18 and living at home.
